I have hardwood floors throughout my home and 1 room of laminate.

To begin with windex is a glass cleaning solution that has ammonia and alcohol as the main ingredients. However windex has become a popular floor cleaner with many positive responses. Cleaning laminate flooring usually requires only simple household items but cleaning laminate floors with windex can get the job done even faster. If you have been using ammonia vinegar alcohol diluted with water and that didn t cause the laminate to peel i highly doubt a spritz of ammonia free window cleaner every once in a while will cause the laminate to peel.

Keeping hardwood floors clean is one of the easiest household tasks there are for some but to others it is a very frustrating challenge. The surface of laminate is similar to glass so you can expect the same results. Spray the windex onto the swiffer or dry mop and not directly onto the laminate floors. Vinegar is another product found in most homes.

Therefore windex should not be used for cleaning sealed. It is an alcohol and ammonia based product. I only use windex on my floors. This is an excellent product when cleaning laminate flooring.

Laminate floors are popular for indoor spaces that see a lot of heavy duty foot traffic such as kitchens bathrooms entryways and laundry rooms. Ammonia is a wax stripper agent that is commonly used to remove acrylic waxes on hardwood floors. Obviously a glass cleaner is not designed for wood floors. It is formulated specifically to clean glass.

A lot of people with polyurethane coated wood floors are turning to glass cleaners like windex and glass plus.
