Allow the club soda or white wine to sit a moment gently blot with a cloth and repeat with carpet cleaner. Mix one part white vinegar with eight parts hot water and pour a heavy amount of this solution over the affected area within the carpeting. Use plain water or mix one tablespoon of liquid hand dishwashing detergent and one tablespoon of white vinegar with two cups of warm. Moisten the carpet fibers down to the bottom of the carpet to loosen any remaining wine stains.

Of dish detergent and 1 tbsp. This is a surprisingly effective way to clean or reduce stubborn but fresh red wine stains. The next step is to flood the stained area with water by dipping a clean sponge or cloth in plain water. Blot up as much of the spilled wine as possible.

Blot the area with a dry white cloth until no more moisture is. Next blot the area dry with a clean dry cloth or paper towel. Be careful not to overdo it or you will strip color from the carpet. Sponge the area of the carpet that still smells like wine.
